Customer: Jackson State University/Mississippi Veterans Stadium

Scope of work: Create a high definition production facility to feed video and graphics to the newly installed HD display board in the stadium.  Client needed a turnkey system that would give them the capability to do SloMo replays in HD along with graphics/stats for the Jackson State University football games.  The system also needed to be flexible enough for other venue events such as concerts.  Client also requested capabilities of connecting any analog or standard definition VTR to the system for ingest. 

Technical solutions overview:  Design and integration of High Definition control room with Broadcast Pix and ClickEffects CrossFire Server as the backbone.  Three Sony HXC-100Ks and One PMW-350 with wireless capabilities.  Replay/SloMo provided by a four channel Abekas Mira replay server and DNF controller.  Onsite game support for video production team.   Analog/SDI ingest capabilites via an AJA FS-1.

Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters, Inc

 

Customer: Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters, Inc – Atlanta

Scope of Work: Preserve and archive mission-critical business data and video. AIB produces approximately 70 gigabytes of programming per day in various formats and also accepts programs submitted by clients for broadcast. Between in-house and client programming, AIB operates with a minimum of 3.8 terabytes of data and video programming each day. In order to preserve all its records, the network needed a cost-effective and scalable storage system for long-term data retention and management.

Technical Solutions Overview: ProStor InfiniVault Model 30 with the following software: Symantec Backup Exec; ChronoSync;Final Cut Server. AIB now uses the ProStor InfiniVault Model 30 to store all its data and video. ProStor backs up and stores our business-specific information as well as all data and video in editing, playback, and archiving. Separate vaults were created for the specific needs of those four business areas, enabling the AIB staff to protect and retrieve important information.

Scope of Work: 60,000-square-foot Digital Media Center

Technical Solutions Overview: SCAD's 60,000-square-foot digital media center offers industry-standard learning resources such as multi-camera sound stages with high-definition broadcast capability, professional sound recording and mixing suites, editing rooms, a screening room, nearly two dozen classrooms, and set and prop fabrication studios. This state-of-the-art facility features industry leading equipment from Harris, Ross, Wheatstone, Avid, Apple, Canon, Panasonic, Digidesign, JVC, Sony and more.

Approximate Budget:$1,900,000

Technical Solutions Overview: CTG has upgraded the video replay control room to HDTV. This room feeds the large screens displays, truck bay and the house CATV system. The upgrade includes Sony switchers and cameras, EVS slo-mo recorders, and terminal equipment from various manufacturers. One of the reasons CTG was chosen for this work, was the relationship we established with the client when CTG upgraded the control room in 2003 from analog to SDI. CTG provides ongoing support to the facility.

Customer: WPBA-TV

Scope of Work: System design and integration of new High Definition Master Control.

Technical Solutions Overview:
CTG provided design and integratison services to re-build WPBA’s Master Control facilities.  This project encompassed a multi-channel video server, automation and archiving.  CTG utilized several of its vendors’ solutions including Omneon, Crispin, Grass Valley & Evertz to deliver a tightly integrated system that met the desired budget while maintaining strict on-air requirements and making use of existing infrastructure.

Customer: Cartoon Network

Scope of Work: Tech core/machine room re-build

Technical Solutions Overview:
CTG was engaged by Cartoon Network to re-build their machine room in conjunction with their studio remodeling.  This project entailed providing design, integration and equipment for 2 tech cores and a total of 12 post production suites.  Both Avid (Media Composer & Digidesign) and Apple solutions with shared storage were successfully integrated utilizing a full complement of supporting gear from Sony, Harris and ADC among others.

Technical Solutions Overview:
Design, integration, workflow analysis and training for complete conversion of existing newsroom infrastructure and production workflow from SD to HD. (13) Avid AirSpeeds, Avid ISIS Storage and Avid Media Asset Manager. Converted newsroom workflow with no on-air interruptions.
